“We recently added an extension to our building. One area in which we had some concerns was how to treat the indoor dog runs to withstand long-term wear. The product and process used by Hudson Valley Coatings is the best I have experienced.

The Vortex® product is very tough and durable. Animals are unable to chew or scratch it. The application process was very clean and professional. The odor of drying paint only lasted a few hours and so we were able to get back to using the space without losing a working day. Mike Sturgeon and his crew covered an area of 600 square feet including curbing and walls in practically one morning. The animals were able to walk in the space within an hour of the job being completed.

I found the price to be very reasonable as compared to other options such as tile or epoxy.

“I am the facilities manager of a 24,000 square foot Cardiovascular Research Facility in Orangeburg, NY. We installed a special 2-part epoxy paint in 2005 for areas that needed to be cleaned on a daily basis. We use a chemical soap solution as well as an acid solution to clean the rooms. In less than one year the epoxy paint started peeling and the subsequent repairs were less than desirable. We are subject to USDA inspection and we must maintain a sanitized facility. We were having a high level of difficulty keeping the epoxy paint intact so we commissioned Hudson Valley Coatings to provide us with a solution.

In order to test the product we immersed a cement block coated with Vortex® in a pure Acid Power for a month. Acid Power is the strongest product we use to clean the rooms. At the end of the month the Vortex remained intact.

I am also impressed with the flexibility of the product. The building has shifted over time and I had to fill the cracks in the old part of the building. Due to the flexibility of the Vortex product, I no longer have to worry about this problem. I only wish I had this product at the time the building was originally constructed.”
